Pam Stern Braun, Quality Improvement Manager at SHALVA, and Debra Natenshon of DBN & Associates recently presented at the CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) Conference at the University of Illinois School of Social Work in Champaign, IL. The conference brought together professionals from across the country who collect, analyze, and distribute their organizations’ data.
In the workshop, A Small Non-Profit’s Journey to High Performance, Pam and Debra shared SHALVA’s multiyear journey of transforming our data into a powerful tool that enables SHALVA to tell the story of the work we do, while maintaining client confidentiality. The data can now be easily used by our Staff and our Board to ensure that we are continually learning and providing quality clinical services to those impacted by domestic abuse. The information will also be used by our community education team for new programs.
The CQI conference was a great opportunity for networking with staff from other agencies around the country. Participants shared both struggles and successes, including ideas for best practices and presentation ideas. It was an exciting opportunity to present SHALVA’s journey and learn avenues for future collaboration.
