What is SHALVA?
SHALVA envisions a knowledgeable and supportive community dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic abuse, where everyone feels safe and respected in their home or relationship.
Since 1986, SHALVA has worked tirelessly for a strong an peaceful community where everyone is safe in their home or relationship.
We help 220-250 clients and educate approximately 4,000 professionals and community members annually throughout Chicagoland.
How does my sponsorship help?
The luncheon is our sole annual community-wide fundraiser. Because victim services and education programs are free of charge, SHALVA seeks ongoing, meaningful financial support from individual community members, businesses, and foundations. Your sponsorship helps break the cycle of intimate partner abuse in Chicagoland.
What is the luncheon?
Join an insightful conversation about the entertainment and news media that we consume and how it influences our views on relationships, roles, and violence. Experts Jackson Katz and CarolAnn Peterson will discuss these issues and highlight stories that perpetuate myths and misconceptions and normalize domestic violence.
