While SHALVA supports Jewish women experiencing and healing from domestic abuse, we also work diligently to break the cycle of domestic abuse by teaching our community members and professionals about healthy love, warning signs, and how to help someone.
The Art of Conversation
Sparking conversation about how to create a foundation for a long-term healthy relationship not only helps loving couples continue down their positive path, but it opens the door for someone to recognize if their relationship isn’t healthy. This is why we launched Seven Circles. Seven Circles is an inclusive, self-guided experience designed for unmarried couples in a committed relationship, to deepen their connection with each other with intention and an eye toward their future.
Every Relationship Has Challenges
Relationships are never easy. The New York Times recently published a poignant article titled, Watching a Partner Change Is Hard. Accepting It Can Be Harder, which highlighted the long-term challenges of relationships as individuals change. Not only are there difficult external factors to manage over time (health issues, job loss, infertility, a never-ending global pandemic, etc.) but as the article highlights, we are constantly growing and changing. How can we ensure that we are growing and changing together? That takes respect, time, attention, and skill-building as a team. Seven Circles’ couples have the opportunity to strengthen these skills before inevitable challenges arise in the relationship.
Strengthen Your Relationship
We are eager to bring Seven Circles to young couples to strengthen the foundations of long-term, healthy, and loving relationships that grow over time along with the individual. Find out more at sevencirclesjourney.org or attend a virtual information session.
