Hello! My name is Zoe, and I am SHALVA’s newest therapist and outreach coordinator. I began my career as a youth educator with a focus on consent and healthy relationship programming. I have a long background in the Jewish camping world, having grown up going to Camp Tavor in Three Rivers, Michigan. My years at camp taught me so much about identity, leadership, empathy, and what it means to be a member of a community. The values I learned there continue to be my guideposts as I develop my therapeutic practice.
My clinical work often focuses on helping my clients understand their emotional needs through various modes of expression. This is especially valuable when working with clients who have experienced or are currently experiencing trauma. For individuals who are navigating abusive relationships, I offer an environment that allows them to reestablish feelings of safety and work through their feelings in a way that is responsive to their needs. Sometimes we need to work through our feelings in ways that go beyond language.
I am joining Shalva in a new role, combining therapeutic work and outreach work. As a younger therapist, I’m excited to learn from such incredible mentors. I have loved connecting all of my favorite things together, and I hope to create many more opportunities to connect with our vibrant community.
