Abusive relationships are all about power and control.

Understanding that dynamic, and the different forms of abuse, is key to being a supportive friend.


Domestic abuse is about controlling someone’s mind, emotions, and actions. Abusers use many different tactics to do this.

Have you noticed any of the following when you talk to your friend?








Abusive relationships are all about power and control.

To start a conversation you can say:

“I noticed that your partner is always checking in and I’m concerned”

or

“You seem to be having more injuries. Is everything ok?”
